By bike: Use the Darran Valley cycleway from Bargoed or Fochriw

By car: The entrance is midway between Deri and Fochriw (to the north of Bargoed).


Bedlinog Circular Walk

Circular walk featuring industrial remains, bronze age burial mounds and Arthurian legend. Please bring a packed lunch. Dogs on leads welcome.

Manufacturing and Mining Walk

Walking across the moorland to the escarpment looking over the Usk Valley and Abergavenny, then Moorland around and down to Garnddyrys Forge, along Hills tramroad past the water balance lift to the Lamb and Fox, and then over the Canada Tips to Hill Pits and back to Foxhunters by way of ancient coal workings. On the moor we may encounter Red Grouse and Summer migrants such as Wheatear, Whinchat and Cuckoo.

Walk starts at 10.00 and will finish at about 16.00 – bring lunch.

Markham, Manmoel and maybe some wildlife

A majestic walk through the monastic landscape of Manmoel and Markham, whilst keeping an eye out for any interesting wildlife in the upper Sirhowy valleys wild woodlands and valleys.
